Riverdale Meadow Community Garden
Our local community paper, the Voice, (covering Cabbagetown, Riverdale and downtown east), has provided a generous breadth of coverage for our garden.
We are happy to share what we continue to learn about both food gardening using organic practices and the history of this unique site in Riverdale, with schools, naturalist and environmentalist organizations, greening initiatives.
We want to continuing developing the use of this garden toward the original purposes for which the land was granted: as a demonstration garden of indigenous plants and urban farming practices, in order to show the viability of community gardens and ecological restoration in the urban environment.
Good press is helping us communicate these activities.
